For our EMEA sales organization we are looking for an experienced manager with a background in (international) sales development. Our current Business Development team consists of a small group of inbound and outbound sales representatives covering the EMEA region and our goal is to grow this team exponentially, in our Leiden office and our local hubs. This is why we would like to have a Business Development Team Lead join, who can manage and build a strong, cohesive, collaborative team responsible for supplying qualified leads to Account Executives.

What you’ll be doing

The goal is to exceed opportunity generation quotas by building targeted local strategies and to educate and motivate your direct reports to succeed. You will be working closely with the directors of sales and marketing, as well as your team, to improve prospecting effectiveness (cold calling, qualification and discovery calls, prospecting sequences, appointment setting, follow-up, organization, etc.). This is a great opportunity to have an important impact on a growing organization and build an effective Business Development team.

Other responsibilities are:

  • Hire, lead and develop members of business development department

  • Build and execute an effective strategy for EMEA, customized for local realities and tiers

  • Steer, motivate and educate (remote) team members towards success

  • Liaise with relevant departments (AE’s, Marketing, Ops, etc) within the organization to ensure cohesion and efficiency

Job requirements

What you’ll need

  • Strong sales development and/or sales closing experience, in a SaaS environment. Proven track record for attaining sales/sales development targets

  • Experience managing an international team, with a track record of building a positive team culture, motivating people, developing people in their career

  • Capable of analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
