As our e-commerce platform grows, our documentation needs also grow. Hence we need you: a Technical Writer capable of comprehensively learning about our systems and documenting features, applying improvements, identifying dependencies and known issues, and everything in between. If you are experienced in technical writing and documentation at a senior level and want to make a difference for 2,000 brands and customers, join us in bringing our documentation to the next level.
Documentation and Learning play a key role in how our customers, partners, and colleagues take advantage of our platform’s many components, and at ChannelEngine we treat it as an essential part of our product. You’ll create high-quality and understandable internal and external documentation or content for our training courses. The goal is to make our products easier to use and to improve our customers’ success.
What you’ll be doing
Working with our Support and Development teams to attain an in-depth understanding of our e-commerce SaaS platform, and the documentation requirements that come with it,
Translating complex technical information into easily understandable information for customers, partners, and colleagues,
Producing high-quality technical documentation appropriate for its intended audience. You’re able to adapt your story to the customers’ level of understanding,
Writing crystal clear user content such as help articles, user guides, learning content, and tutorials,
Converting the input provided into clear user manuals and other digital content. Where possible, you’ll use existing texts and pictures to create new (media) content,
Expanding our knowledge base and maintaining the information architecture,
Creating technical content for our product documentation in accordance with industry requirements and applicable standards,
Technical input coordination with the stakeholders (project/product managers, reviewers, customers).

What you’ll need
Strong experience in the technical writing of software documentation. You understand the craft of technical writing, and how it differs from other types of writing,
Knowledge and experience in software development that you can apply to one or more of the following areas: RESTful APIs, integrations, deployments, documentation engineering (docs-as-code, localization), in-product assistance, and microcopy/UX writing,
Experience with e-commerce, markup languages, and GitHub are preferred, and the application of modular documentation techniques is a requirement,
A proactive, accurate, and consistent approach, and ability to handle several projects with short deadlines simultaneously,
A proven track record in creating and reviewing technical documentation (e.g. instruction manuals, white papers, datasheets, etc.),
Native, or near-native, level of English,
Availability to work 32-40 hours per week.
